About Objects Gift Shop

HISTORY

Welcome to Objects, THE finest gift shop down South! Objects is owned and operated by Vince and Lynn Boothe and their daughters, Hagan Anderson and Teal Creel. We are located in the Eastern Shore Centre, an outdoor lifestyle shopping center in Spanish Fort, Alabama.

Objects was established in 1978 in Fairhope, Alabama. The original owners named the store Objects because they wanted a name that would not limit what they could sell. Now, over thirty years later, the trend continues as we offer everything from antique furniture to gourmet coffee. Objects was located in downtown Fairhope until 2004, when the building and all of the contents were destroyed by Hurricane Ivan. During this same year, we opened what was to be our second location in Spanish Fort. However, due to our substantial growth and great location, the Objects in Fairhope was never reopened.

Objects in Spanish Fort opened in November, 2004 with 2681 square feet. In November, 2008, we expanded the business into an adjoining space adding 2520 square feet, nearly doubling the size of the store within four short years. Our goal at Objects is to provide customers with exceptional service, unique finds, and a relaxing, yet upbeat atmosphere. We strive to have a well-trained staff, friendly environment, and a dedication to specializing in gifts for better living and thoughtful giving.

ABOUT THE OWNERS

Lynn & Vince Boothe

Lynn Boothe moved to Fairhope, Alabama at the age of five years old. She graduated from Fairhope High School where she was a cheerleader and met her husband, Vince Boothe, a native of Fairhope. After marrying, the couple attended the University of Alabama where Vince played football under Paul "Bear" Bryant. They returned to Fairhope after college and raised three children. When the children grew older, the opportunity arose to purchase Objects, and they seized it thinking this would be a good "hobby" for Lynn. Because of her hard work, Lynn's "hobby" quickly became a full time passion which explains why Objects is now a household name. "Going to market to search out fun and unique items to bring back to our customers is so exciting. Helping others find that perfect gift, unique home accessories, or that special something they just can't live without is very rewarding to me." Vince and Lynn currently reside in Fairhope. They enjoy boating, spending time with their seven grandchildren, and attending Alabama football games.

Hagan Anderson

Hagan Anderson was born and raised in Fairhope, Alabama. During Hagan's school years, she was a cheerleader and outstanding softball player. After graduating from Fairhope High School, she continued her education and athletic career on a softball scholarship at the University of Mobile. In 2003, Hagan received a degree in Human Performance and Exercise Science with teacher certification. However, instead of pursuing a teaching career, she joined the family business. "I love that we provide what cannot be found at large chain stores. We grow and develop relationships with our customers and employees, which makes coming to work everyday a joy." Hagan currently resides in Fairhope with her two daughters. She enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, and reading.

Teal Creel

Teal Creel is also a native of Fairhope, Alabama. Teal graduated from Fairhope High School where she played softball, basketball, and cheered. After high school, she was fortunate enough to earn a softball scholarship to the University of Mobile. In 2004, she received a degree in English and a minor in Psychology. After college, Teal joined her mother and sister in the family business. "My mother purchased Objects when I was 11, and during my youth, I spent many hours helping her at the store. Partnering with her in the business just seemed like the natural thing to do, and I consider it a blessing to be able to work with my mom and sister everyday." Teal currently resides in Fairhope with her husband and three children. She enjoys reading, sports, church, and traveling.
